Reengaging Disengaged Readers: An Innovative Digital Reading Intervention to Support Dyslexic, Struggling, and Multilingual Learners – Adolescents through Adults, featuring Noah Text Founder Sarah Blodgett and Rhode Island Tutorial & Education Services Co-Director Lisa Bigney M.A., M.Ed.
This webinar covers Noah Text’s partnership with New Century Education Foundation and Michigan State University researchers, starting in 2019. Together, we created an online multicomponent literacy intervention, in which Noah Text is embedded throughout. The intervention, which we explore, is for older students and individuals reading between the 3rd and 8th grade level. We’ve studied it with middle school and high school dyslexic students, middle school students with emotional and behavioral disorders, and incarcerated adults with low literacy skills. Consistently, we’ve had phenomenal results---reengaging the most disengaged readers, improving overall confidence and skill. We found statistical significance in our recent controlled study. This intervention is approximately 36 hours.
